Frequently Asked Questions

1) What kind of conditions does chiropractic care treat?

Chiropractors primarily treat conditions associated with the spine such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, etc. Our Doctors can also treat patients with disorders of the musculoskeletal system including muscles, ligaments and joint problems, sports injuries and many other conditions.

2) Why are x-rays necessary for chiropractic treatment?

At our office, we use a digital x-ray system that allows us to view each patient’s condition prior to treatment. We believe x-rays are an important part of the clinical picture, so we can first have an understanding of the patient’s condition and a diagnosis before we start a treatment plan. Sometimes x-ray findings can help our providers to avoid specific types of treatments that could have an adverse reaction to the patient’s condition. We believe that not taking x-rays leads us to take a guess at your condition and we do not want to guess when it comes to our patients’ health.

3) Is chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-invasive therapy used to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints and is recognized to be one of the safest treatments available.

4) What kind of insurance does your office take?

We accept most insurances.  Ohio Medicare, Medicaid, and Worker’s Compensation

5) Do I need a referral from my medical doctor?

No, referrals are not necessary to be treated by our doctors unless your insurance has an HMO plan then you may want to check with your insurance provider prior to being seen to make sure a referral is not necessary.

6) Is chiropractic treatment ongoing?

The type of manual adjustments our doctors perform is in essence the reason some patients require being seen multiple times. Depending on the care, acute, chronic, and/or preventive, it becomes necessary for a certain number of visits. Our chiropractors specialize each patients’ procedure to meet specific goals in maintaining good health. Our doctors will go over your specific treatment plan and how long care should last.

7) What do you mean by manual manipulation?

Manual manipulation refers to the doctor using his or her hands to manipulate joints of the body, specifically the spine to restore and improve joint function. This can help to reduce inflammation and pain. This highly controlled technique rarely causes discomfort and patients often experience immediate relief following treatment. Our doctors can adapt their procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient.
